EJA Conference

EJA is hosting a conference on May 2nd, 2020 at the UCSB Student Resource Building! The theme this year is “Our Earth, Our Communities, Ourselves: Mobilizing for Collective Action.”

In light of where this world stands, many issues stems from the same yet different struggle that we face as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. As we come to understand that the common enemy is always the oppressor, set up to turn us against each other, we understand the critical need for community-built collective action for a revolutionary movement. As change occurs, not from passive wishing, but from passionate and energetic mobilization! This conference will invite a diverse group of scholar- and community-activists for workshops, keynote, and speakers, we hope to clearly present a common consensus through a celebration of our differences and victories. We hope to convey a connection among all issues for folx to discover and to realize the power in number, in solidarity. We want to provide a space where growing and learning takes primary goal and purpose.

The them this year is “Our Earth, Our Communities, Ourselves: Mobilizing for Collective Action.” We hope to identify the love and crucial changes Our Earth deserves, build the resilience and strength (in relationships and magnitude) Our Community needs, and, finally and always, attend to the quality of care and rest Ourselves are entitled to.

This conference is completely free for every human being and service animals. Light breakfast, full lunch, and light snacks will be provided for the day.
